How to play Christmas charades

  1. Print the cards on plain paper or card stock and cut them out. Shuffle them face down, or make three piles: easy, medium and hard.
  2. Split into two teams and grab a phone timer: 60 seconds per turn.
  3. A player takes a card and plays it one of the four ways below. Can't choose? Roll a die: 1–2 act it, 3–4 draw it, 5–6 describe it.
  4. Only their own team plays along. Guessed in time? The team scores the points on the card: 1, 2 or 3.
  5. Teams take turns. The first team to 25 points wins, or play until the cards run out.

Questions

How do you play Christmas charades?

Split into two teams. A player draws a card and acts it out without talking, while their own team guesses within 60 seconds. With these cards you can also draw the word, describe it without saying it, or hold the card on your forehead and guess it yourself.

What are good Christmas charades for kids?

Things kids can act out right away: building a snowman, a snowball fight, ice skating, opening presents, a reindeer or Santa Claus. For kids who can't read yet, use the 32 picture cards: they act out or draw what they see.

What are good Christmas charades for adults?

Movie and song titles are the best: It's a Wonderful Life, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. Tricky activities work well too, like untangling the Christmas lights or re-gifting a present.
